Plastic windows use polycarbonate or acrylic as substrates. Compared to the glass, it is a much more lightweight choice with higher impact and vibration resistance. The material can be bent to a certain radian and also easily cut into different shapes. It is more flexible on the structural design than glass to meet customers’ specifications.
Same as glass windows, there are also various shielding options available for plastic windows, such as ITO coatings and shielding mesh lamination. It can be terminated with a silver buss bar for superior electrical conductivity. To resist scratches in normal use, the surface of the plastic is usually applied with hard coatings, which increase the hardness to around 4H. Anti-glare and anti-reflective coatings are also available.
